Discipline is a crucial aspect in shaping the character of elementary school students. One effort made by schools to instill discipline is through flag ceremony activities, conducted regularly every Monday and on national commemorative days. This study aims to describe: (1) the efforts of instilling discipline through flag ceremonies at SD Negeri 4 Plosokerep, Indramayu Regency, (2) the level of student discipline in participating in the ceremonies, and (3) the factors influencing students’ solemnity and discipline. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the subjects were the principal, teachers, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation for validity. The findings show that discipline is instilled through punctual attendance, student involvement as officers, briefings, routine practice, and teacher guidance. Student discipline is fairly good, influenced by internal factors (awareness, responsibility, motivation) and external factors (teacher role models, peers, and school regulations). Thus, flag ceremonies effectively foster discipline and national character.
