The Influence Of Verbal Bullying In The School Environment On The Development Of Student Behavior

Abstract

Cases of verbal bullying that occur in elementary schools (SD) show a very worrying situation so that bullying must be addressed immediately, because cases of verbal bullying are increasing day by day, so they have a big impact on aspects of students' behavioral development.

        The objectives of this research are (1) to find out how much the level of verbal bullying of students is, (2) to find out how big the change in the development of students' behavior is due to verbal bullying, (3) to find out how big the relationship is between verbal bullying and the development of students' behavior at UPTD SD. Karangmulya State, Kandanghaur District, Indramayu Regency. This type of research is quantitative research with ex post facto. The subjects of this research were 266 students with a population of 65 students. The data collection methods used were observation, questionnaires and documentation studies.       The research results obtained were calculated using correlation and t test which showed that (1) The condition of bullying in the UPTD of SD Negeri Karangmulya, Kandanghaur District, Indramayu Regency with the percentage obtained was, namely, the Very Good category, 12.4%; Good 56.9%; Fair 16.9%; and Less 13.8%. (2) The calculation results obtained from the condition of behavioral development are very good 16.95; Good 60.1%; Enough 21.5% and Less 1.5%. (3) the results of the correlation test value r = 0.2835 and t = 2.337, because t = > t table, H0 is rejected, meaning there is a significant relationship or correlation between verbal bullying and behavioral development. Thus, more attention is needed to handle bullying cases in the UPTD environment of Karangmulya State Elementary School, Kandanghaur District, Indramayu Regency, Indramayu Regency.
