Challenges of Teacher Pedagogical Competency at UPTD SDN 1 Margamulya, Bongas District, Indramayu Regency in Facing the Independent Curriculum

Abstract

One of the basic competences that teachers must have is pedagogical competence. These competencies include the ability to manage student learning, including student understanding, learning design and implementation, evaluation of learning outcomes, and student development to maximize their potential. Therefore, the knowledge of the pedagogical competencies that must be possessed and developed by teachers is essential to enable them to apply independent curricula effectively in the teaching learning process. UPTD SDN 1 Margamulya became one of the schools that have implemented an independent curriculum in a year back this year. Therefore, the researchers wanted to study more deeply how far the teacher's knowledge is towards the independent curriculum. This research aims to find out what pedagogical competencies should be mastered by teachers in the implementation of independent curricula at UPTD SDN 1 Margamulya. The problem that he sought answers through this research is: 1. How was the pedagogical competence of the teacher of UPTD SDN 1 Margamulya?. 2. How is the challenge of the teacher's pedagogical competence in the face of the Merdeka Curriculum? 3. How is the pedagogical competence challenge of the teacher at UPTD SDN 1 Margamulya in the face of the Merdeka Curriculum? This research uses a qualitative approach, the type of research used is a case study using methods of analysis that are descriptive in nature. Data collection methods use data collection techniques of interviews, observations, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with the head of the school, the first class teacher and the fourth class teacher. Observations were conducted to obtain information on physical and non-physical conditions in the implementation of independent curricula in schools. Documentation is done to obtain information on research-related documents. Results of research shows that there is a challenge of pedagogical competence of teachers in the face of an independent curriculum at UPTD SDN 1 Margamulya but the implementation has been quite good.
