Abstract

Abstrack. The 21st century has ushered in rapid advancements in technology, globalization, and evolving educational paradigms, reshaping the landscape of education worldwide. This paper explores the key characteristics, challenges, and innovations in 21st-century education. It examines the role of digital transformation, pedagogical shifts, and the increasing emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication—often referred to as the 4Cs of 21st-century skills. One of the fundamental changes in modern education is the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching and learning. Digital platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), and virtual reality (VR) have revolutionized traditional educational practices, making learning more interactive, personalized, and accessible. Additionally, online and blended learning models have gained prominence, particularly in response to global crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted the importance of flexible and remote learning environments.
