This study aims to empirically examine the effect of the school literacy movement (GLS) on the reading and writing skills of grade II students at UPTD SDN 3 Sidamulya Bongas Indramayu. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method, this analysis uses an independent variable, namely the school literacy movement and the dependent variable is reading and writing skills. The sample in this study were grade II UPTD SDN 3 Sidamulya students totaling 19 students. Data collection was carried out using an assessment rubric research instrument with material that had been taught.
Data analysis in this study used statistical methods, namely 1) Instrument validity test, 2) Normality test, 3) Linearity test, 4) Hypothesis testing with Product Moment correlation technique. The results of the study with the product moment correlation test obtained a correlation index ???????????? obtained 0.736. then rxy was compared with ???? ???????????????????? = 0.482. at a significant level of 5%, the results obtained rxy = 0.736> r table = 0.482. Thus, it can be proven that the value of the student literacy movement is moderate and the ability to read and write is moderate
