GEN AKAR (Generation of Children with Character): Optimizing an Educational and Participatory Approach in Character Education

Abstrak

Character building in children has become one of the main focuses in contemporary education. The rapid development of technology, negative social influences, and limited social supervision present significant challenges in shaping a generation with strong morals and integrity. The GEN AKAR (Generasi Anak Berkarakter) program was introduced as a strategic initiative to instill moral, social, and spiritual values from an early age. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the GEN AKAR program in developing children's character through educational and participatory approaches. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings indicate that the GEN AKAR program effectively improves children's discipline, responsibility, and social awareness. Through consistent and collaborative efforts among schools, families, and communities, the program is considered effective in supporting the character development of the younger generation
