Analysis of Challenges Faced by Teachers in Implementation of P5 within the Merdeka Curriculum

Abstract

This study analyzes the challenges teachers face in implementing the pancasila student profile strengthening project (P5) at UPTD SD Negeri 2 Wirapanjunan within the Merdeka Curriculum. It focuseson teachers understanding of P5, implementation difficulties, and strategies to overcome them. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data we collected through interviews,observations, and documentation. Result show that teachers generally understand P5 as a way to instill pancasila values through project based learning, applied flexibly and contextually. However, student comprehension, especially in lower grades, varies. Key challenges include unclear regulations, limited teaching materials, difficulty explaining abstract concepts, adapting to the new curriculum, and scarce resources. Continous evaluation supports improvement. Despite technical and structural obstacles, teachers successfully implement P5, positively impacting student character, teacher competence, and learning quality. The study recommends clearer school policies, better teaching materials, and regular teacher discussions to enhance P5 implementation.
